Democratic Rep. Ami Bera has won the race to represent California's 7th District. The AP called the race Wednesday, over two weeks after Election Day.

Bera, a freshman congressman, was challenged by Republican Doug Ose, who served in Congress from 1999 to 2005. Ose received backing from Crossroads GPS, the Karl Rove-backed dark money group.

The race was the nation's most expensive House race, topping $20 million.
