Lionel Messi is coming for all the records.

Just days after becoming the leading scorer in La Liga history, the Barcelona star moved to the top of all-time scoring list in the Champions League. The 27-year-old notched his historic 72nd career goal in the competition with a quick touch against APOEL in a Group F match on Tuesday in Cyprus.

Messi added two more goals as Barcelona rolled to a 4-0 win. His 74 career goals in the European club competition surpassed the previous high of 71 held by former Real Madrid striker Raul. Another Real Madrid superstar is close on Messi's heels. Cristiano Ronaldo will take the field on Wednesday just four goals behind his rival.
