As an homage to the legend and his work, here are Chespirito's most memorable quotes and characters.

Chaparrón Bonaparte

One of Chespirito's craziest characters, Chaparrón Bonaparte had more than screw loose. From him, fans will always remember:

"No hay de queso, nomás de papa".

Instead of saying you're welcome "No hay de que.." the comedian's Bonaparte would say something like this: "There isn't one with cheese, only with potato."

"¿Sabías que la gente sigue diciendo que tú y yo estamos locos?"

Bonaparte and his friend would do some crazy things, but in the end he'd always say: "You know people keep saying that you and I are crazy?"
El Chapulín Colorado

The hero had a huge heart but no grace. You could always count on El Chapulín Colorado to make a big mess out of saving the day. Some of his most well-known phrases:

"¡Síganme los buenos!".

"Good people, follow me!," he would yell before falling over or some other antic.

"Que no panda el cúnico".

When trying to say "Que no cunda el pánico" (No one panic!) the hero would scramble it up to say the above.

"No contaban con mi astucia!".

Every time things would somehow worked out for the best, saving the day (despite sometimes not actually doing much) he would say: "They didn't count on my craftiness!"

"Mis movimientos están fríamente calculados".If anyone ever questioned his actions, el Chapulín would reassure them with: "My movements are coldly calculated."

"Lo sospeché desde un principio".

"I suspected it from the very beginning." ...Once something was revealed, the clueless Chapulín would say he knew it all along. He didn't.

"Se aprovechan de mi nobleza".

"They take advantage of my nobleness."

"¡Chanfle! ¡Rechanfle! ¡Recontrachanfle!".

There's not true translation to this but it was his way of saying "Darn! Superdarn! Super super darn!"

Perhaps his most beloved character, el Chavo, was an orphan who hung out in a barrel within a lively neighborhood known simply as "la vecindad." Here are some his best quotes:"Fue sin querer queriendo".

After doing something mischievous, el Chavo would tell the adults "I did it without wanting to do it."

"¡Se me chispoteó!".

When something would go wrong or his made a mistake, el Chavo would just shrug say this incredibly classic line.

"Es que no me tienen paciencia".

While the adults chastised him, el Chavo would simply say "They just don't have patience with me."

"Eso, eso, eso".

"That, that, that.." while moving his index finger up and down was the way el Chavo would say "yes, yes, yes."

"Bueno, pero no te enojes".

After doing some crazy things to his neighbors, el Chavo would simply say, "Ok, but don't get angry."

"Pi-pi-pi".

This was how el Chavo cried.

"La venganza nunca es buena, mata el alma y la envenena".

While it was said with humor, these were some of el Chavo's wisest words: "Revenge is never good, it kills the soul and poisons it."

El Chompiras and his chubby friend were a couple of thieves, but he would say:

"Tómalo por el lado amable" or "Look at it on the friendly side."
El Doctor Chapatín

Dr. Chapatín would be the first person to call when you were sick, though perhaps you could do without his medical advice. Some of his best quotes are: "¿Insinúa que estoy viejo?".

"Are they insinuating that I'm old?"

"Ay, ya me dio cosa".

Whenever the doctor wasn't feeling sure about something he'd retract and say this.
