This Is What Happens When A Street Artist Takes Over An Old Military Bunker

Blu is the pseudonymous name of a popular Italian street artist who's been working around the globe since 1999. He began in Bologna, Italy and has since seen his designs on the walls of Israel, Germany, Guatemala, Poland, Spain, England, the United States and more. Most recently, Blu transformed an abandoned military barrack in Rome into a massive, multi-colored portrait. Behold:

Nearly 50 windows make up the eyes, mouths and cheeks of around 27 faces in his newest mural. An in-process view of the building showed up on Google Street View earlier this year, but Blu just posted the final product on his blog.

The incredibly intricate painting made up of double chins, facial stubble, arched eyebrows and pursed lips takes up at least three stories and two street-side facades. You can see a few previews of the impressive addition to Rome's city landscape courtesy of Blu and Getty images.
