Woman Believes She Survived Kidnapping, Human Trafficking And Sexual Assault -- But Isn't Sure

“I survived a kidnapping, human trafficking, and I believe I witnessed a murder,” says Lauren. She says that in March 2004, when she was 20 years old, she was kidnapped by three people at gunpoint one night outside her home while her family was on vacation.

In the video above, Lauren tells Dr. Phil what she says she recalls of that night, including being sexually assaulted, sold for drugs and watching her captors shoot and kill another woman. “I learned pretty quickly not to fight. I never could have gotten out,” she says.

Lauren says eventually managed to escape, but her memory of the ordeal was lost until five years ago, when she started experiencing flashbacks. She says she went to the police, but they don't believe her — and she admits even she questions herself at times.

“Did you realize you were being kidnapped, abducted?” Dr. Phil asks her.

“It happened so fast. I don’t remember thinking much,” she says. “I knew I couldn’t fight.”

On his show, Dr. Phil discusses with Lauren some inconsistencies he sees in some of what Lauren has said and weighs in with his thoughts. Also, Lauren says she made a promise to find the mother of the woman whom she believes she saw murdered. With the help of professional locator Troy Dunn, they meet for the first time.
