5-Year-Old Sends His $1 Allowance To Save Disbanded College Football Team

Bennett Williams, a 5-year-old boy from Ohio, was upset to learn that the University of Alabama-Birmingham had recently disbanded its financially struggling football program. So he dug deep, donating his $1 allowance to UAB.

He also enclosed an adorable note.

The kid's goodwill touched the athletics department, which sent him a game ball, shirts and other goodies.

Brad Williams, Bennett's dad, said that the department sent Bennett a note thanking him and letting him know that he was UAB's No. 1 fan in Ohio, AL.com reported. The department said it had framed Bennett's letter and dollar, placing it on display in the primary conference room.
