John Dingell Released From Hospital

Rep. John Dingell Flashes A Thumbs-Up As He Leaves The Hospital

Rep. John Dingell (D-Mich.), the longest-serving member of Congress, was released from a Washington, D.C., hospital Tuesday afternoon.

The 88-year-old congressman celebrated his release and thanked the hospital on Twitter:

Dingell, who cast his last vote in the House on Dec. 11, was admitted to George Washington University Hospital the following day for a fractured hip. His wife, Debbie Dingell, said in a Facebook post a few days later that "no surgery is needed but [his hip is] going to take time to heal."

Debbie Dingell was elected in November to hold the seat the 30-term congressman is leaving.
