'The Grand Budapest Hotel' Upsets 'Birdman' For Best Picture At Golden Globes

SHOCKER! 'Grand Budapest' Upsets 'Birdman'

"The Grand Budapest Hotel" won Best Picture - Musical or Comedy at the 72nd annual Golden Globe Awards on Sunday night, defeating heavily favored "Birdman" to grab the honor.

Wes Anderson's "The Grand Budapest Hotel" stars Ralph Fiennes as Gustave H, a legendary hotel concierge who is framed for murder. Zero, the hotel lobby boy (Tony Revolori), helps Gustave prove his innocence through a wild adventure across the fictional Republic of Zubrowka. The film's ensemble cast also includes Adrien Brody, Saoirse Ronan, Tilda Swinton, Jeff Goldblum, Willem Dafoe, F. Murray Abraham, Bill Murray, Edward Norton, Harvey Keitel, Jude Law, Léa Seydoux, Jason Schwartzman, Mathieu Amalric and Tom Wilkinson.

"Birdman" was expected to win the award, but it settled for two others: Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy (for Michael Keaton) and Best Screenplay.

Last year, David O. Russell's "American Hustle" took home the Golden Globe for Best Musical or Comedy film.
