At the Golden Globes on Sunday, Lena Dunham told Ryan Seacrest that she had deleted Twitter from her phone. “I check it occasionally, but it’s not the same codependence Twitter and I once shared," Dunham said, before later adding that she had tired of constant abuse. "There's a lot of people I love on Twitter, but unfortunately you can't read those without reading deranged neo-cons telling you you should be buried under a pile of rocks."

Dunham's not off Twitter completely. Her latest missive was a plug for the return of "Girls," which airs Sunday night on HBO.

UPDATE: While Dunham said she deleted Twitter from her phone, the actress did tweet from the Golden Globes on Sunday night.

Dunham later explained that she did, in fact, delete Twitter from her phone but trusted friends to post for her in a pinch:
