This Sorority's Pre-Rush Week Beauty Standards Are Pure Madness

Spanx. Gel nail polish. Non-"emo" hair.

Those are just some of the requirements during Polish Week -- the week before sorority rush starts -- for the ladies of Alpha Chi Omega at the University of Southern California. The beauty guidelines were included in an email with the subject "Personal Development/Recruitment Info," sent to Jezebel by an anonymous tipster. Although the email was from 2013 and Jezebel reports the author has since graduated, the sorority apparently continues to uphold such provisions to this day.

Chapter members must wear proper undergarments ("you won't have to worry about sucking in all the time"); have neat eyebrows ("'full' eyebrows are in style right now, but 'full' does not mean 'BUSHY' or 'WILD'"); and leave the glasses at home ("poking your eyes is worth it, just this once") ahead of Rush Week. Not to mention apply the proper makeup.

"If you are not wearing the required makeup, I will stop you and apply it myself," the author wrote. "I don't care if you're late for class. I don't care if you're a sophomore or a super senior. I will stop you."

Because who is an AXO girl without "pinky neutral" lips?
