A Florida man was arrested Monday after police say he intentionally hit his 7-months-pregnant girlfriend with his car.
Justin Colby, 33, allegedly called Crystal Noordhuizen, 32, and asked, “Are you ready for your abortion date?” moments before slamming into her with his Dodge Charger, WPTV reports.
An arrest report states that the couple had gotten into a verbal argument that resulted in Noordhuizen walking out of their home in Pasco County. She was walking on the shoulder of the road, waiting for a ride, when Colby called her.
Surveillance footage from the scene allegedly shows Colby hitting his girlfriend with the vehicle, then crashing into a pole, according to the Tampa Bay Times. He allegedly got out of his car and returned to their home without assisting his girlfriend, then drove off on a motorcycle.
Noordhuizen suffered only minor injuries, according to ABC News.
Colby is charged with attempted murder and attempted murder of an unborn child. According to the Tampa Bay Times, Colby was charged in a similar incident in 2012, when he allegedly ran over his brother after a dispute. At the time, investigators said Colby told them his brother ran towards the car.
