Why These Teens Are (Rightfully) Freaking Out About Pentatonix

Pentatonix had the fourth best-selling album last year and went home with a Grammy a few weeks ago. And while the group has racked up more than 7 million subscribers and more than 800 million views on YouTube, it's their a cappella talents that are most impressive.

In the latest video in their “Teens React” series, the Fine Brothers had teens watch two of Pentatonix's videos and share their thoughts. With the singers using only their mouths to create music, the participants thought the group deserved more credit than the typical artist.

“I appreciate how much more time and effort that they put into that versus an artist sitting down behind a computer and just putting some loops together and making a song,” one teen said.

Other descriptions of Pentatonix's complex arrangements included “crazy” and “so sick.” One teen even compared the group to a popular Anna Kendrick film.

“It’s like 'Pitch Perfect,' but better,” she said.

Since the group landed a spot in the sequel, Pentatonix might turn "Pitch Perfect 2" into a cappella heaven.
