Laird Hamilton Foil Boards Above Huge Surf, Takes Our Breath Away

If George Jetson had ever taken up surfing, this is what it would look like.

Watch surfer Laird Hamilton ride large waves as if on air in Raglan, New Zealand.

He's on a board with a long hydrofoil, which allows him to surf above the water with less friction and more speed. It's called foil boarding. For The Win aptly describes it as "hover-surfing."

By any name it's extremely cool.
