The platform that launched the careers of singers like Justin Bieber and Austin Mahone is now contributing to the music world with its own awards event.

On March 23, the 2015 YouTube Music Awards will highlight 50 artists who use their videos to engage with fans and share their music.

The artists range from mainstream singers like Taylor Swift and Sam Smith to creative minds who found fame on YouTube like Kurt Hugo Schneider and Lindsey Stirling. They hail from 10 countries and have demonstrated the biggest growth in the last six months in views, subscribers and engagement.

To hold fans over, the platform plans to post videos leading up to the event on its YouTube Music Awards channel to give viewers a look behind the scenes.
