Sick Teen Says Yes To The Perfect Dress In Sweet Prom Surprise

Visiting the doctor has become the norm for Abby Gladin, who has lived with Crohn’s disease for 10 years, though a recent visit proved to be completely out of the ordinary -- in the best way possible.

The 17-year-old left a recent appointment to find her mom, aunt and cousins waiting for her. Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta arranged a prom shopping adventure for Abby, and her family was there to help her find the perfect dress.

“I want my dress to be something that you would see on the red carpet,” she told 11Alive.com.

The hospital arranged a car from Uber to pick Abby up and take her to Miz Scarlett’s dress boutique where she could pick out the dress of her dreams for free.

While some dresses didn’t work for Abby because of her colostomy, which connects the colon to the surface of the abdomen, when she finally found the one, her mother was brought to tears.

To top off the shopping excursion, Miss Georgia stopped by with Miss Colorado causing Abby to shed a few tears of her own. The teen even had the chance to wear Miss Georgia's crown.

Though Abby has a major surgery planned after the school year ends, she has something to look forward to in the future. Thanks to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, her prom will certainly be picture perfect.
