Former Fox News Host Wants You To Know That Bill O'Reilly Is A 'Liar' And 'Unfriendly'

Former Fox News Host Says Bill O'Reilly Is A 'Liar' And 'Unfriendly'

A former Fox News host said that the allegations against Bill O'Reilly are nothing new, claiming that O'Reilly has been lying -- and unfriendly -- for years.

"He's lied so many times," Eric Burns, former host of "Fox News Watch," said on Sunday.

Speaking out on CNN for the first time, Burns, who was fired from the network in 2008, blasted O'Reilly for "puffing up his credentials" while maintaining an "unfriendly" demeanor in the workplace.

"He was so unfriendly," Burns said, adding that even though they both hosted programs at the same network, they said nothing more than "hi" to each other.

Burns said that Fox News viewers are like a "cult," which is why O'Reilly has gotten away with lying for so many years.

"No one expects much out of O'Reilly as a Fox News host," he said. "No one expects the truth. He's been caught in numerous lies and those have never been a story."

Burns pointed to Keith Olbermann, who frequently named O'Reilly as the "Worst Person in the World" when he hosted his show on MSNBC. Even then, Olbermann was able to pinpoint exact moments when O'Reilly had made "complete fabrications" on air, Burns said.

"So you're saying this is not new?" host Brian Stelter asked.

"No, it's not new," Burns said firmly.
