In an interview with Esquire, Chelsea Handler said Bill Cosby once invited her back to his room while the two were simultaneously performing at an Atlantic City hotel. Cosby "tried to Cosby me," Handler said.
According to Handler, the alleged incident took place "like 10 years ago." The comic said she was told Cosby wanted to see her in his suite. "And I said, 'That's really weird. I don't want to go alone.' I go, 'I don't know him.'"
Handler said she eventually went up to Cosby's room with three other men in tow. "I brought them up with me to his room and thank God I did, because now I know what would've happened if I went up there alone," she said in the interview. Handler was only reminded of the story recently, after one of the men she went with texted her about Cosby's sexual assault allegations. "He said, 'Hello! You could've been one of his victims if we weren't there.' And I went, 'Oh my gosh …,'" Handler said. "Yeah, so yeah, he's guilty."
Cosby, 77, has been accused of sexual misconduct by multiple women, many of whom have said the alleged incidents happened in hotel rooms.
Representatives for Cosby were not immediately available for comment.
