Police Search For Missing College Student Last Seen Leaving Bar

UPDATE: Police have confirmed video evidence that shows missing college student Jennifer Houle going into the Mississippi River, My Fox Twin Cities reports. Police are now conducting a water recovery effort.

Authorities in Minnesota are searching for a missing college student who was last seen leaving a bar around 1 a.m., Friday.

Nearly 300 people gathered on Sunday for a candlelight vigil to pray for the safe return of Jennifer Houle, 22, KARE 11 reports.

The University of Minnesota student and Pi Beta Phi sorority sister was reported missing after she did not return home from a night out at Blarney's Pub and Grill, located in the Dinkytown neighborhood of Minneapolis, the Star-Tribune reports. Police said her purse was found later that night, three blocks away from the bar.

Her sorority chapter shared this message on Facebook:

Our sister, Jen Houle is still missing. She was last seen in this outfit at 1am Friday March 27th in Dinkytown. We need...

Police said they are investigating surveillance footage from the area and interviewing witnesses, ABC News reports.

Supporters also started a Find Jennifer Houle Facebook page.

Houle is set to graduate from the University of Minnesota's Carlson School of Management this spring, according to CBS Minnesota.
