'GoT' Star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau Teases Jon Snow's True Lineage

Warning: possible spoilers ahead. Who are Jon Snow’s parents? It’s a question that’s been as torturesome for “Game of Thrones” fans as Theon Greyjoy’s actual on-screen torture, but Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, aka Jaime Lannister, may have just brought us one step closer to the answer. “R+L=J. That’s a theory,” Coster-Waldau teased in a conversation with HuffPost Live's Caitlyn Becker on Friday. The popular fan theory claiming that Ned Stark is not Jon Snow’s father has been gaining momentum on the Internet for a while now, though it has yet to be confirmed. While Coster-Waldau remains as tight-lipped as Lannisters tend to be, we can be sure there are at least three people on the planet who do know who Jon Snow's parents really are. When the show's creators D.B. Weiss and David Benioff pitched the series to "Game of Thrones" author George R.R. Martin, the mastermind behind it all reportedly asked them one question: who do you think is Jon Snow’s mother and father? “And they answered the question correctly, apparently, so they got the job,” Coster-Waldau recalled. With Season 5 premiering this Sunday, winter is coming. And, hopefully, so are some answers.
