Debra Messing Wishes 'Will & Grace' Had Carried On For 'A Few More Years'

When "Will & Grace" wrapped up in 2006, the cast and crew put the show to rest knowing they'd delivered a comedy series that provided groundbreaking visibility to the gay community. And while Debra Messing, who played Grace, was content to move on to other projects at the time, today the actress wishes the show hadn't been quite as hasty in coming to a conclusion.

"I guess I would change the fact that we stopped [the show] after eight years," she told HuffPost Live's Nancy Redd on Thursday. "It was such a happy time, and we were all really exhausted by that point and it was the right thing to do at that time, but now obviously time has passed, and I watch the show with my son who laughs at it and I think it would've been really great to do it a few more years."

Messing currently stars in "Mysteries of Laura," which airs Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
