Farmer Grows Gigantic 33-Pound Turnip, All Is Turnt In The World

The colossal root veggie is larger than most toddlers.

A 33-pound turnip was harvested last week by a farmer in China's Yunnan Province, according to local reports.

The giant turnip is pictured in the flower bed at the home of Chinese villager Mr. Li in Jinghu village, Dianzhong town, Eshan county, Yuxi city, southwest China's Yunnan province, 8 April 2015.

A man identified by Imagechina as "Mr. Li" claims the turnip as his own, and said the vegetable was grown without the help of any fertilizers. He was just as shocked by its gargantuan appearance as anyone would be, reports China's People's Daily Online. The newspaper adds that Li planted regular seeds and watered the plot every day.

The turnip reportedly weighs 33 pounds and is 4 feet long.

The average turnip weighs anywhere from two to eight ounces, which means Li's turnip is no ordinary root vegetable. While it's overwhelming to imagine the dishes one could make with this amount of turnip, one thing is for sure: a certain first lady would be stoked about the prospect.
