Plus-Size Blogger Explains Why Wearing A Bathing Suit Doesn't Make Her 'Brave'

Don't Call This Woman's Bathing Suit Photo 'Brave'

Plus-size fashionista Jessica Kane is sick and tired of people calling her "brave" for wearing a swimsuit. So she posted a glamorous bathing suit shot and a plus-size manifesto to her Facebook page.

THIS WAS NOT BRAVE. I've been told how brave I am for not having a coverup, but going without a wrap would only take bravery if I cared what others thought of me, but I don't. I spend my time worrying about things I CAN control and this day, I was only thinking about how fab I felt and how much sun I was catching Things that DO take bravery? A family battling tragic illness, a mother trying to beat addiction, a person trying to break free of domestic violence, reaching out for help when you have already planned your suicide and feel like you can't breath one more day. THAT is brave.

Her post on Facebook had more than 600,000 likes as of Friday afternoon. Check it out here:

According to Kane's post, plus-size stylist Marcy Guevara took the photo on a Santa Monica beach during Kane's 35th birthday celebration.

In another swimsuit picture from that day, Kane commented "Eff the critics babygirl, and eff anyone else's version of beauty if it forces you to deny embracing moments like these..live your life NOW."
