Muslim Guest Hits Back At Fox News' Sean Hannity: 'Shame On You'

Things got predictably heated on Fox News Wednesday night when host Sean Hannity interviewed Hassan Shibly, the executive director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations in Florida.

Shibly joined Hannity to discuss the case of Hoda Muthana, a 20-year-old college student who left her home in Hoover, Alabama, to join ISIS in Syria last November. CAIR is representing Muthana's family as they deal with the "utter shock and trauma and horror" of having lost their daughter to an “extremist violent gang of monsters.”

But Hannity was barely able to make it through one complete question before turning the conversation into a shouting match. He called CAIR a "controversial group" and began yelling about the organization being named an "un-indicted co-conspirator" in the trial against the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development.

"Are you done changing the topic or do you want to talk about the reason why we're here?" Shibly said.

“I’ll ask any question I want, this is my show,” Hannity shot back.

Shibly was briefly able to speak about his involvement with Muthana's family, explaining how her father had seen him give a speech condemning the Islamic State at a mosque, but Hannity quickly changed the topic to Hamas and whether the group is a terrorist organization.

"Sean, this is so silly," Shibly said. "Invite an expert on terrorism to speak about that."

"Shame on you," he continued. “Shame on you for just asking every Muslim what he thinks of terrorist organizations.”

The segment concluded with Hannity cutting Shibly off mid-sentence.
