No matter your age, whether you're a boomer or a millennial, you might have noticed that people's manners just aren't what they used to be. As kids, we wouldn't have dared call someone older than us by their first name. It was always Mr. or Mrs. so-and-so. And our mothers drilled in us the habit of saying please and thank you. We asked our Facebook friends about the polite niceties we hardly ever see anymore and we got a massive response. Check out the list below.

1. Writing thank you notes.

Because we'd really appreciate knowing you got our gift.

2. Welcoming a new neighbor with a batch of cookies or even a friendly hello.
Love thy neighbor, people.

3. Giving your seat up on public transportation for the elderly, pregnant women and those with disabilities.
Do the right thing.

4. RSVPing to events.

Since when was "maybe" an appropriate response?

5. Taking off your hat indoors.
Show some respect.

6. Making polite small talk at the checkout.
This one goes both ways. Cashiers, say hello and stop talking to your coworkers in the other lane. Customers, put down the cell phone.

7. Saying "You're welcome."

"No problem" is not the appropriate response.

8. Giving your undivided attention to your company, rather than your phone.

9. Holding the door open for the person behind you.
Etiquette 101.

10. Never interrupting people to take a phone call.
