Anthony Riley, a former contestant on "The Voice" and a Philadelphia street performer, was found dead on Friday, The Philadelphia Inquirer reported. He was 28. Riley was discovered in the basement of the apartment where he was staying.
Riley was a frontrunner on the NBC talent show in 2015, but left the show to enter a rehab program for substance abuse, reported Yahoo. Riley was also named Philadelphia's best street performer by Philadelphia Magazine in 2014.
NBC has issued a statement saying, "We are sad over the passing of Anthony Riley. We offer our deepest condolences to his friends and family during this very difficult time."
