An attorney for former McKinney, Texas, police officer Eric Casebolt outlined the officer's actions on the day he was caught on video pinning a girl down and pulling a gun on teenagers while responding to a call at a local pool.

During a press conference Wednesday afternoon, Jane Bishkin, Casebolt's attorney, said the officer had responded to two suicide calls during the day Friday before officers were called to the Craig Ranch North Community Pool in McKinney. In a video that went viral over the weekend, Casebolt can be seen chasing after teens at the pool, doing a barrel roll and pinning a young girl in a bathing suit to the ground.

"He does recognize that his emotions got the best of him, and that the prior suicide calls put him in an emotional place, that he would prefer not to have been there," Bishkin said.

Bishkin said Casebolt was sorry to anyone who was offended by his actions, but said the viral video from the pool party doesn't show everything.

"The video everybody has seen only depicts a small part of Eric's actions that day," Bishkin said.

Bishkin said Casebolt's actions were attempts "to gather information," and noted that in addition to putting handcuffs on the girl in the bathing suit, who is black, Casebolt also arrested a white female at the pool party.

"He was not targeting minorities," Bishkin said. "In fact, he also detained a white female who you do not see on the video."

Casebolt was not present at the press conference Wednesday, but Bishkin said he planned on addressing the media at some point in the future. Casebolt resigned on Tuesday "with a heavy heart," according to Bishkin.
