This probably isn't the kind of bad behavior E.L. James fans want to read about.

Police are currently investigating the disappearance of a copy of Grey, a new, yet-unpublished entry in the author's lucrative Fifty Shades of Grey franchise. According to the BBC, Random House, the book's publisher, fears the manuscript may be sold on the black market or posted online.

James announced the book on Instagram earlier this month. Grey will retell the events of Fifty Shades from the perspective of Christian Grey, the brooding businessman with a now not-so-secret dark side. The book is scheduled for a June 18 release.

To date, the erotic trilogy has sold more than 125 million copies worldwide.
