Adam Lambert: 'It's About Time' For 'American Idol' To End

Adam Lambert is just fine with Fox's decision to end "American Idol" after 15 seasons.

When HuffPost Live asked the former contestant on Wednesday whether he felt sad about the television show's demise, he shook his head.

"No. I think it's about time, you know? I think they kind of took stake of where they're at and thought, 'Okay, we're done,'" Lambert told host Alyona Minkovski during a conversation about his new album "The Original High."

While the singer thinks, "It's great that there's talent that can be discovered via TV," on shows like "Idol," "The Voice" and "X Factor," he sees the web as being the future breeding ground for emerging artists.

"I think things are changing a little bit," he said. "Things like YouTube have now become a great way for people to launch their talent, as well. I think things might be shifting a little bit, so we'll see what the next phase is."
