Just in time for Father's Day, here's the first trailer for "Daddy's Home," the upcoming comedy about fatherhood starring Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg.
Paramount's sneak peek at the film sets up the intense rivalry between dedicated stepfather Ferrell and cool-but-absent biological father Wahlberg. The trailer, bracketed by the tagline "It's Dad Vs. Step-Dad," features everything you could want from a Ferrell-Wahlberg comedy: Marky Mark in a leather jacket, Will Ferrell being earnest and exasperated, and plenty of great slapstick moments.
Written by Brian Burns and directed by Sean Anders and John Morris, "Daddy's Home" got an early publicity boost while still in production. The film includes a scene shot during halftime at a Pelicans-Lakers game, which made headlines when Ferrell hit a cheerleader in the face with a basketball.
Ferrell and Wahlberg played similar foils in 2010's buddy-cop comedy "The Other Guys."
"Daddy's Home" also stars Linda Cardellini, Thomas Haden Church and Alessandra Ambrosio. The film opens Christmas Day.
