Diddy Arrested For Allegedly Assaulting UCLA Football Coach (UPDATED)

Diddy Arrested For Allegedly Assaulting UCLA Football Coach

TMZ was the first to report that Sean “Diddy” Combs was arrested on Monday afternoon after he allegedly got into a fight with a UCLA football coach, where his son, Justin Combs, attends school and is on the team.

A source told the website that the rapper took issue with Strength and Conditioning Coach Sal Alosi, who was "screaming intensely" at his son on the field. Diddy allegedly swung at the coach with a kettlebell, but "narrowly" missed him.

UCLA later issued a statement confirming the incident that took place at the Acosta Athletic Training Complex led to the 45-year-old Bad Boy Records founder's arrest on the charge of assault with a deadly weapon.

UCLA Police said no one was seriously injured during the altercation and they will continue with their investigation.

As of 6 p.m ET the rapper was still in custody at UCLA's campus jail, but is expected to be transported to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Inmate Reception Center later this evening, police said in a statement.

Diddy was released from jail late Monday night after posting bail, The Associated Press reported.

UPDATE: On Tuesday, a rep for the rapper claimed Diddy was defending himself during the altercation that led to his arrest.

"The various accounts of the event and charges that are being reported are wholly inaccurate," a rep for the rapper from REVOLT told The Huffington Post in a statement. "What we can say now is that any actions taken by Mr. Combs were solely defensive in nature to protect himself and his son. We are confident that once the true facts are revealed, the case will be dismissed."
