Dad Feeds Baby With One Hand, Robs Adrian Gonzalez With The Other

The bottle never even left the infant’s mouth.

The Los Angeles Dodgers and Chicago Cubs faced off at Wrigley Field Tuesday night, but it was one baby-toting dad’s bare-handed catch that stole the show.

After Cubs pitcher Jason Hammel fouled off a pitch in the bottom of the second inning, Dodgers first baseman Adrian Gonzalez chased the popup and reached over the tarp to try to make a catch for the third out.

But a fan in the first row who’d been feeding his baby thwarted the attempt, reaching up and cleanly snatching the ball.

The bottle never even left the infant’s mouth.

According to Bleacher Report, the play was initially ruled as just a foul ball. But after Dodgers manager Don Mattingly came out of the dugout to discuss the play, the umpires reviewed it and reversed the call. It was ultimately ruled fan interference and Hammel was out.

The dad, however, was reportedly allowed to stay in his seat.
