Sorry, Izzie fans. Dr. Isobel Stevens is not returning to the halls of Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital.
Katherine Heigl told "Entertainment Tonight" there is no truth to rumors she is making a comeback on ABC's "Grey's Anatomy." When asked if she'd ever consider a reappearance, she couldn't answer that, either. ("You know, I think that, uh ... I don't know how to answer that. I'm sorry.")
She did have a bit more to say when talking about former co-star Patrick Dempsey, though. His character, Dr. Derek "McDreamy" Shepherd, was killed off toward the end of Season 11.
"I just can't imagine the show without McDreamy," she said. "It's just so hard to picture."
Heigl, herself, was a staple on the show from Seasons 1 through 6, playing Izzie. She left back in 2010 afters months of headlines about her tense relationship with creator Shonda Rhimes. In November, she told "Extra" that she loves Rhimes' work and is "sorry she's left with such a crappy impression of me."
The 36-year-old, who is currently promoting her film "Jackie & Ryan," is grateful for the six seasons she spent as part of the "Grey's" cast.
"This 13-year-old girl was telling me this weekend how much she loves 'Grey's Anatomy,' and I was like, 'Do you realize you were a 1-year-old when we started that show, when we did the pilot?'" she told "ET." "It’s been that long since it’s been on the air and become this incredible thing. It was just an incredible experience for me. It changed the course of my life and my career, and I couldn't be more grateful. I just hope it goes for as long as they all want it to."
