NFL veteran John Abraham turned himself in Thursday after a warrant was issued for an alleged assault at an Atlanta suburb strip club in February, police in Brookhaven, Georgia, told The Huffington Post.

Abraham was wanted on a charge of misdemeanor battery. A defensive end who played for the Jets, Falcons and Cardinals over 15 seasons, Abraham is accused of striking Vladmir Ako five times at the Pink Pony on Feb. 28, bloodying Ako's nose. The two were in the beverage business together.

Abraham surrendered at around 3 p.m. and was booked into DeKalb County Jail, a police spokesman said. He was later released on bond.

The warrant had been issued just days ago because police only recently obtained surveillance video of the alleged attack, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution noted.

The same strip club has been associated with other trouble for Abraham. Last summer he was arrested on drunk driving charges after he departed the Pink Pony.

Abraham left the Arizona Cardinals last season, having suffered a concussion in the first game.
