Members Of The Backstreet Boys And *NSYNC Are Teaming Up For A 'Zombie Western' Horror Film

The project will be backed by the folks who brought us "Sharknado." How could it go wrong?

Children of the '90s and early 2000s, prepare yourselves: *NSYNC and the Backstreet Boys are teaming up to make a horror movie. A "zombie western," to be exact.

Members from the two boy bands, who once dominated the airwaves with their catchy pop tunes, will work on the project with Asylum, the studio that brought us "Sharknado." (How could this go wrong?)

Backstreet Boy Nick Carter, who will write and star in the drama, told Rolling Stone, "It's a zombie Western futuristic horror movie. My character is still being worked out right now, but I'm a good guy that's going to help save the day."

The film, tentatively called "Dead 7," follows a "ragtag band of gunslingers" as they fight off a zombie plague. (Zombies: so hot right now.)

The cast, so far, includes fellow BSB members A.J. McLean and Howie Dorough, as well as *N Sync's Joey Fatone. Carter is reportedly reaching out to other musicians to fill the cast, including Jordan Knight from the New Kids on the Block.

But what about Justin Timberlake?

Well, fans are definitely hoping the singer gets back on the acting horse for the film, but Fatone is "the only *NSYNC-er as of now." We can dream, though.

And while you may be thinking this whole project seems like a flop just waiting to happen, just know that Carter is a huge horror and sci-fi fan -- as noted by Asylum's co-founder David Rimawi -- so, he's got it under control, you guys.

And if you had any doubts about BSB's acting chops, always remember:

Backstreet's back, everyone.
