Greg Louganis: 'I'd Love To Share' In Caitlyn Jenner's Journey

Greg Louganis says he's "really looking forward to sitting down" with fellow Olympian Caitlyn Jenner and "just talking about her journey."

"It doesn't matter if you're transgender," Louganis told HuffPost Live's Josh Zepps in an interview this week. "It doesn't matter if you're straight; it doesn't matter if you're gay or lesbian. We all have a journey, and I'd love to share [in Caitlyn's] journey."

The 55-year-old diver and LGBT rights activist, who is currently promoting his new HBO documentary, "Back on Board: Greg Louganis," said he felt compelled to educate himself about transgender issues while starring opposite trans actress Alexandra Billings ("Transparent") in a 1999 production of Larry Kramer's play "Just Say No" in Chicago.

"I know a lot about the 'G' in LGBT, but I had to do a lot of learning about the 'L,' the 'B' and the 'T,'" he said. "The 'T' is so foreign to so many within our community, and I was just blessed that I was able to share an experience onstage with Alexandra Billings."

"Back on Board: Greg Louganis" debuts on HBO Aug. 4.
