Two Baseball Players Synced Up Their Talents For One Sensational Play

Kansas City Royals infielders Omar Infante and Alcides Escobar redefined what it means to be a shortstop and a second baseman on this play. In effect, they combined to become a "shortbaseman." (Also open to addressing the pair as "secondstop.")

In the bottom of the ninth inning against the Cleveland Indians on Tuesday night, Infante ran down a sure hit up the middle and flipped it with his glove to Escobar, who twirled and rifled the ball to throw out catcher (and slow-poke) Roberto Perez.

Just watch these two form like Voltron to turn the middle infield into one giant net for scooping up groundballs:

Managers and coaches use versions of this phrase all the time: Teamwork makes the dream work. Infante and Escobar are proving that, one out at a time.

The Royals hung on to win 2-1, bringing their AL Central-leading record to 61-38 .
