Chris Christie Got Booed Hard Over The Weekend

Ouch.

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie received a harsh welcome while presenting an award at the Haskell Invitational, a horse race that took place in his state over the weekend.

As Christie entered the winners circle to present the winning trophy to the owners of American Pharoah, the Triple Crown-winner who also took first at the Haskell, he was booed by the crowd, as seen in an attendee's video posted by Business Insider:

Christie, who announced his campaign for president on June 30, has struggled to please voters in his own state in recent weeks. A Monmouth University poll released in the beginning of July showed 56 percent of New Jersey voters feel Christie has abandoned the Garden State, and 71 percent said he could not govern the state effectively while also running for president.
