The Real And Surprising Reason Donald Trump Quit Oreos

It's kind of endearing.

On Tuesday, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump reiterated that he was quitting Oreos because of the cookie manufacturer's decision to close a plant in Chicago and open one in Mexico.

"I'm never eating Oreos again," he said, before amending that he might eat the creme-stuffed confection if he could find some that were made in the U.S.

No matter their place of production, the Oreo has earned the title of America's Favorite Cookie year after year, making Trump's opt-out seem quintessentially un-American.

The 2016 presidential hopeful, who sells U.S.-made campaign paraphernalia like red plastic cups and beer koozies on his website, can keep yapping about Oreo's unpatriotic move. His claim will remain transparent. The real reason Trump dumped the cookie?
