Accused 'Dance Moms' Stalker Sent Porn To Child Reality Star

A San Diego man accused of sending packages containing sexually explicit materials -- including child pornography -- to an underage star of the Lifetime reality show "Dance Moms" says the girl and other celebrities communicate with him through coded messages on the Internet.

Phoenix Sundown, 36, was arrested Wednesday by police in California after postal inspectors in Murrysville, Pennsylvania, discovered pornography, letters and other items in packages addressed to the 11-year-old. "Dance Moms" follows the careers of several tween girls -- and their mothers -- at a Pittsburgh dance studio.

Sundown, who has a history of mental illness, faces a felony charge of sending harmful material with the intent to seduce a minor.

In a jailhouse interview with KGTV's Dan Haggerty, Sundown said the girls on the show talk to him through cryptic messages on social media.

"It just seems like, 'Oh this dude is way obsessed.' But no one is recognizing that there's communication going on," Sundown told KGTV.

Sundown has a likeness of the girl tattooed on his neck, according to NBC News.

Postal inspector Tammy Mayle told WTAE that the packages "contained items that were inappropriate for minors -- harassing, stalking items" -- along with blankets and a coffeemaker.

WXPI reports that it's unclear what tipped off authorities to the packages. They were later destroyed with a water cannon.

The victim lives out of state but maintains a P.O. box in the borough, which is 20 miles east of Pittsburgh.

Sundown is being held in San Diego Central Jail on $25,000 bond pending his arraignment, which is scheduled for Thursday afternoon.

Haggerty tweeted that Sundown also claims to trade coded messages with other celebrities.
