A Connecticut man pulled over for doing 112 mph in a 65 mph zone told officers he was on his way to traffic court.

Police in Royalton, Vermont, stopped Seth Tichenor, 33, Wednesday afternoon after getting reports of a speeding vehicle weaving in and out of traffic on I-89, the Burlington Free Press reports.

Tichenor told the officers he was on his way to court to resolve a ticket for -- surprise! -- speeding.

Despite having what some might think is an airtight excuse for speeding, the officers weren't swayed.

Tichenor was arrested on charges of excessive speed and negligent operation, according to CBS Boston. He was later released.

Tichenor is due in court on Oct. 27 to deal with the ticket. No word on if he's eligible for traffic school.
