Man You Wouldn't Want As Neighbor Fears ET Invasion, Wraps House In Tin Foil

It's the best way to ward off aliens.

Ah, tin foil! It turns yesterday's dinner into tomorrow's lunch ... and it also protects us from space alien invasions. Anyone who has seen the movie "Signs" knows that.

Arthur Brown of Pennsylvania wrapped his suburban home in tin foil and shines round-the-clock spotlights from his porch. It's the best way to chase away the ETs. But his intergalactic heroics have left him in an ongoing feud with his neighbors, who might want to send him into orbit.

Multiple residents in Hermitage, which is 20 minutes from Youngstown, Ohio, are fed up with the 78-year-old's paranoid antics and have taken him to court.

A judge has ordered Brown to take down the lights and pay a $500 daily fine, citing zoning ordinances. Officials say he failed to comply with the order and now owes more than $20,000, according to UPI.

Watch how Brown's neighbors try to reason with him:

Nancy Raich, 72, told WKBN-TV that Brown's DIY alien force field is keeping her from being able to sell her house.

"Who wants to buy my house? A nice decent house, garages, acreage in Hermitage, a nice place to live, when this yahoo across the street decides he wants to shine lights on me?" Raich said.

Things weren't always this way between them. Their once neighborly friendship turned sour as Brown's fear of aliens increased over the past 20 years. Raich told The Sharon Herald that Brown now believes both she and her husband are secret liaisons for the ETs.

“Little by little, we learned that he thought we were ‘they,’ and that we are the ones the aliens were contacting to get to him,” Raich said.

Brown's attorney has appealed the charges against his client, claiming that he never received notification, according to WFMJ.

But what if he hadn't wrapped his house in tin foil? The world may never know.
