Joe Scarborough Thinks His Show Has A Great Campaign Strategy For Hillary Clinton

"The Clinton campaign watches 'Morning Joe' every morning."

Gasp! How dare a political campaign not do what a morning news program tells it to?

"Morning Joe" co-host Joe Scarborough said on Friday he's surprised the Clinton campaign hasn't followed any of the advice the show has provided it with.

"The Clinton campaign watches 'Morning Joe' every morning," Scarborough said during the show. "Which begs the question: Why don't they listen to Mark Halperin, who has been saying for some time, 'Don't attack Bernie Sanders'?"

Halperin is a regular contributor to the show, and was on a panel Friday morning discussing a recent attack made on Sanders by a pro-Hillary Clinton super PAC called Correct the Record. As first reported by The Huffington Post, the super PAC -- which, unlike most super PACs, actually coordinates with the Clinton campaign -- circulated an email linking Sanders to controversial remarks made by British Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn. Corbyn recently praised Venezuela's late Hugo Chavez. The super PAC's move caused backlash that resulted in Sanders raising over $1 million in less than 48 hours.

Halperin repeated his warnings to the Clinton, saying her campaign's strategy shouldn't include attacking her opponent.

"It's a real challenge for her," he said. "If you look at the history of threatened frontrunners, what do they do? They try to attack and eliminate the challenger. Attacking Bernie Sanders because of the nature of his campaign is a real challenge for her."
