The Best Tweets From Women About The 2015 Emmys

"WOMEN WOMEN WOMEN WOMEN WOMEN WINNING EMMYS"

We had high hopes for this year's Emmy Awards: funny lady Amy Schumer was recognized for her comedic talent with multiple nominations, "Orange Is The New Black" actress Uzo Aduba had the chance to make Emmys history by winning for the same role in two genres and 15 of the 18 leading actress nominees were over the age of 35. Luckily, the awards show did not disappoint.

Of course, we kind of wish Amy Poehler and Tina Fey would host every award show ever, but Andy Samberg did a pretty good job with some sly digs about racism and sexism throughout the night.

There was that time Julia Louis-Dreyfus hilariously mocked Donald Trump in her acceptance speech, and that awesome moment "Inside Amy Schumer" won for Outstanding Variety Sketch Series, a refreshing change of pace right after the awards show aired a heavily white dude-filled comedy reel. Viola Davis also took home the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for "How to Get Away With Murder" and gave a powerful speech about the lack of diversity in Hollywood. "The only thing that separates women of color from anyone else is opportunity," she said.

Women on Twitter did not fail to call out the good -- and the less-than-good of the Emmys. If you want to see sharp commentary in real time, look no further than a well-curated Twitter feed. We've rounded up the best tweets from ladies throughout the super-duper-long night.
