Cam Newton Gives Reporter Hilarious Death Stare For The Ages

Suffice it to say he does not think referee Ed Hochuli is telling the truth.

Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton has heard referee Ed Hochuli’s take on Sunday's age-related controversy. And no, he’s not buying it.

In a press conference on Wednesday, Newton was asked about the referee denying that he used the quarterback's age as the rationale behind a no-call in Sunday’s Carolina Panthers-New Orleans Saints matchup.

“Did you expect him to say anything else?” Newton asked the reporter, before executing a withering head tilt-cocked chin combo to more clearly indicate the insanity of the question. He stared and waited a bit longer. “'K, thank you," he concluded.

The matter began on Sunday when Newton believed he should’ve been granted a roughing-the-passer call after being knocked down in front of Hochuli. After not getting the whistle, Newton approached Hochuli, and the two exchanged words.

Newton claims that Hochuli said, “Cam, you’re not old enough to get that call." Hochuli claims he said, “The difference is you were running.”

While Dean Blandino and NFL Referee Association Executive Director Jim Quirk both expressed their faith in Hochuli, Newton’s teammates are sticking with their quarterback. Carolina tight end Greg Olson told NBC Sports’ "Pro Football Talk Live" that “there’s no reason why” Newton would’ve fictionalized the account.

Without conclusive audio proof, the NFL has decided to drop its investigation into the incident almost as soon as it started it.
