Washington State High School Football Player Dies After In-Game Injury

Kenney Bui was critically injured while trying to make a tackle during a recent game.

A high school football player from Washington state died on Monday after sustaining an in-game injury on Friday night, according to The Seattle Times.

Kenney Bui was a senior on Evergreen High School's football team and was critically injured while trying to make a tackle during his team's game against Highline High School.

Bui is the fourth known high school football player who has died in the past few weeks as a result of an in-game injury. Ben Hamm from Oklahoma, Tyrell Cameron from Louisiana and Evan Murray from New Jersey are the others. The death in New Jersey has since been ruled an accident because Murray had had an "abnormally enlarged" spleen.

Senio Kelemete, who is an offensive lineman for the New Orleans Saints and an alumnus of Evergreen High School, tweeted his support for the Bui family.
