Andrea Mitchell Isn't Very Happy With A Recent Hillary Clinton Ad

"NBC News in no way authorized them to use any of our material and we had no idea this was coming," she said.

MSNBC host Andrea Mitchell isn't very pleased Hillary Clinton's campaign used her voice in one of its latest advertisements.

Mitchell said on her show Tuesday that she had no idea the Democratic presidential candidate's campaign was going to use the audio from one of her reports in a television ad.

“I just want to point out they have used a little bit of my voice, a little bit of Savannah Guthrie’s," Mitchell said. "NBC News in no way authorized them to use any of our material and we had no idea this was coming.”

The audio in the ad was from one of Mitchell's recent reports on comments made by House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.), in which he praised the Select Committee on Benghazi for damaging Clinton's poll numbers and said Clinton would have been "unbeatable" without the committee's work.

The ad comes about a month after Mitchell sat down with Clinton for a one-on-one interview.

This is not the first time clips from NBC News have appeared in political ads without the network's approval. In 2014, Chuck Todd appeared in an ad for now-Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R) as he fought a challenge from Democrat Alison Lundergan Grimes. While Todd stood by his comment that Grimes "disqualified herself" by refusing to say whom she voted for in the last presidential election, he also disapproved of the campaign using him in its ad.
