Chelsea Clinton Predicts Hillary Will Be 'Remarkable' In Benghazi Hearing

The Democratic candidate is set to testify on Thursday.

Chelsea Clinton is sure her mom, Hillary Clinton, will be "remarkable" when she testifies before the House Select Committee on Benghazi this week.

The younger Clinton praised her mother during a "CBS This Morning" interview on Tuesday.

The committee, which is tasked with investigating the 2012 attack on the U.S. diplomatic compound in Benghazi, Libya, is highly controversial. Democrats have repeatedly accused the Republicans in control of vilifying the former secretary of state rather than conducting a nonpartisan investigation.

In late September, House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) suggested the committee was, indeed, targeting Hillary Clinton for political reasons.

"Everybody thought Hillary Clinton was unbeatable, right? But we put together a Benghazi special committee, a select committee. What are her numbers today?" McCarthy told Fox News.

Rep. Richard Hanna (R-N.Y.) later said the panel was largely aimed at Clinton.

And a committee staffer, Air Force Reserve Maj. Bradley Podliska, said he was fired for focusing more on the actual attacks than on Clinton. Committee Chairman Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.) said Podliska was let go for mishandling classified information.

The Benghazi Committee's investigation has cost about $4.5 million over the last year and a half.
