Why This Young Couple Is Terrified Their Baby Will Be Taken From Them

Karen says she wants custody of her 20-year-old daughter, Kiersten’s, unborn baby girl, because she believes Kiersten and her fiancé, Jaden, are unfit parents.

“Jaden is abusive, controlling, manipulative and a liar. He’s just a horrible human being. I cannot stand him. I want him out of my life,” claims Karen. “Kiersten puts herself in harm’s way every single day by being with Jaden, and if she’s not going to protect herself or that baby, I have to.”

Both Kiersten and Jaden strongly deny Karen’s claims and say they are terrified that Karen will take their child.

“My mom thinks that Jaden is a deadbeat and he’s never going to be financially stable,” Kiersten says. “She threatens me with taking my baby to keep me away from Jaden.”

Jaden, who says Karen is a “cancer” in his life and that he’s sick of her spreading lies about him, adds, “I didn’t want Kiersten to tell her mother about the baby, because I knew she would come in, manipulate the situation and take the baby … She already hired a lawyer to make a deal with Kiersten to exile me out of my baby’s life. I want her gone.”

In the video above, Dr. Phil asks Karen why she believes she has the right to take her daughter’s child, and he questions Kiersten about Karen’s allegations of abuse.
