St. Louis Rams' Slippery Concrete Sideline Claims Another NFL Victim

For the second week in a row at the St. Louis Rams' Edward Jones Dome, an NFL player was injured after slipping on a sideline stretch of concrete slab between the turf field and the wall.

San Francisco 49ers running back Reggie Bush reportedly suffered a torn ACL while trying to slow his momentum running out of bounds. The change in texture from the grippy turf to solid concrete caused Bush to slip and slide into a wall.

Bush immediately grabbed his left knee and was carted off to the locker room.

Following Cleveland Browns quarterback Josh McCown's hazardous experience with the concrete during last week's game, Bush's injury is now raising questions over why a concrete slab even exists between the turf and the wall. If cleat-wearing players aren't going to be able to catch their footing running out-of-bounds on such a smooth surface, it seems like a clear player safety issue. McCown wasn't seriously injured after his slip, but it could've been much worse:

For their part, the Rams had no comment on Bush's injury following the game, according to ProFootballTalk.

Between the Edward Jones Dome's villainous concrete slab and Levi's Stadium's foot-eating turf monster, NFL stadiums have seemingly become sentient, mischievously causing elite athletes to make clumsy, potentially harmful movements.

And they must be stopped. For now, adding something to the surface to make that slippery concrete more tacky might be the Rams' best option here. No Rams players have been attacked by their own stadium yet, but they won't want to test their luck much longer.
