A Mini-Tour Of Contemporary Photography Fair Paris Photo 2015

If you've ever wanted to see the works of grand masters who shaped the history of photography, dating back to 1800, you're in luck: the French capital is hosting the 19th edition of Paris Photo, one of the largest photography fairs in the world. It is a massive international showcase, where you can admire works by the old masters and discover emerging talents.

The fair confirms that photography is now a key component of the contemporary art market. Held every November in Paris, it draws visitors from across the world. This year, Paris Photo runs from November 12 to 15 at the Grand Palais in Paris. The fair features hundreds of photographs, presented by 147 galleries and 27 photography book publishers from 34 different countries. Both historical and contemporary artworks will be showcased.

France has the leading presence among exhibitors; 44 galleries (30 percent of the total) are based in France. Other countries with significant representation include the U.S. (27 galleries), Germany (15 galleries), and the U.K. (15 galleries). During a visit to the Grand Palais, you can lose yourself among the different styles and languages of the photos, and view the most notable works from this fascinating and complex art.
